Hi there Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week! It's been beautiful here in Door County, Wisconsin!
My mom is here visiting from Arizona all summer. We all call her "Babs". She's
a hoot! It's her first time in Door County and she's loving it! This week my daughter Ireland is here too! We've been
having so much fun!
Babs and Ireland left their mark on Door County's famous Anderson dock. Have you ever been? Everybody is allowed to paint their names on this building. I guess my hubby Hoyt and I need to add our names to the dock next!
Summer sure is flying by! The local sweet corn is finally here! Time for our annual Shrimp and
Sausage Boil. It's so easy and so fun! This is such and easy way to entertain. I cover my table with
butcher paper or a big plastic table cloth and just throw all the boiled shrimp, sausage, corn, and potatoes right down the center. Serve this delicious spread with lots of melted butter, my Seriously Good Cocktail Sauce and lemon wedges. I put loads of napkins or rolls of paper towels out too. It's messy but that's what makes it so fun! Why not make it a tradition every summer!
On the side I serve crusty French bread and I make a big bowl of coleslaw. My Bacon and Bleu
Cheese Slaw is one of my favorites. Coleslaw can be so boring! Not this recipe! It goes with whatever you are

Got sweet corn? I can't wait to get my hands on some more at the farmer's market this weekend.
When I make corn on the cob I always boil way too much. Use the leftovers to make this big beautiful Southwest Corn and Black Bean Salad. This is so fresh and colorful! Healthy too! This is also great spooned over grilled chicken! This also doubles as a delicious night light summer dip! Serve it with tortilla chips and dip away!

It's been to warm to turn the oven. I love no-bake desserts in the summer. The Michigan blueberries are show up at farm stands near us.
