Hi there

Happy Friday! Hello from Munich, Germany! It's one of my favorite cities! There are 25 of us here for one of my Cooking Mom Vacations.  This is going to be a really fun week! Today we are taking to tour of the city and the marketplace and we're going on a Munich pub crawl! Bring on the German Beer and giant Pretzels!

I can't wait!

Tonight I've planned a big Bavarian dinner for us at one of Munich's best restaurants with grilled sausages, spaetzle, dumplings, and more.  Tomorrow were going to a wonderful summer festival with German food and music and biergartens.  It's like a mini Oktoberfest.  We went last year and loved it! After two days in Munich my groups heads to Passau, Germany for a week long river cruise on the Danube.  Besides Germany, we'll be visiting Austria, Budapest and more!  It's going to be an amazing trip! I promise to post lots of pictures on Instagram and Facebook.   Who wants to go on this trip next year? It's so special! It was a hot week here in Wisconsin.  To keep our cool we ate lots of salads.  My Best Ever Layered Salad is a recipe near and dear to my heart.  It's a recipe my grandmother used to make and everyone loved it!  It's loaded with bacon, hard boiled eggs, peas and lots of other goodies.  The creamy Parmesan dressing sits on top so you can make this ahead and the salad won't get soggy. LOVE THAT! It's perfect for when you need to bring a dish to pass.  It goes with steaks, chicken or whatever you're grilling! It's a always a WINNER! 

It's cucumber time! I saw a bunch of local cucumbers at the farmers market.  They are my favorite! Got cukes? Make this Cucumber Dill Salad.  It's so fresh! It's the perfect summer side dish! Nice and cool too! 

When it's hot, nobody wants to turn on the oven.  Sometimes a big pasta salad really hits the spot.  My Tuna Noodle Salad is really tasty! A little lemon juice and fresh dill give it loads of flavor.  This recipe is easy on the wallet and makes a great big batch.   It's great to pack for lunches.  Sometimes we even have it for a nice light summer dinner.  

My Quick Taco Salad is another WINNER for dinner! Next time you're making tacos, double the recipe for the taco meat and make this salad later in the week.  I love cooking once and getting a couple different meals out of it.  Especially in the summer!  Everybody loves a good taco salad! When it's too hot to bake a summer pie make my Banana Cream Trifle.  It's crazy easy and crazy good! It's a nice cool sweet treat and so pretty layered in a trifle dish or pretty glass bowl.  You can make mini desserts too and layer this in canning jars, wine glasses or even clear plastic cups.  So yummy!
