Hi Cooking Moms, Dads & Friends, TGIF! I hope you had a good week! We took a couple days and went to beautiful Door County, Wisconsin. We took the ferry over to Washington Island. It was my first time. We rented bikes and set off to explore. What fun. The lavender fields were GORGEOUS! They smelled so good! I can’t wait to go back again some time. It sure was hard to say goodbye to those spectacular nightly sunsets. The cherry season is just starting up there. The cherry trees are bursting! I just had to stop at a farmer's market and bring some home. Hoping I can go up again this summer and pick my own! Got cherries? If not, get some soon! I've got some "cherry good" recipes you've just got to try. Sorry, I couldn't help myself. LOL! I love the combination of cherries and almond. My Cherry Almond French Toast is AMAZING! Talk about a special weekend breakfast. Click Breakfast & Brunch for more delicious breakfast and brunch recipes. For lunch pick up some dried cherries and make my Door County Cherry Chicken Salad Sandwiches! They're so good and so easy. Perfect for picnics. Want to really WOW your family this weekend? My Cheeseburger Sliders will be a HUGE hit! Super fun and easy breezy but a bit messy. So make sure you’ve got lots of napkins handy. I’m all about delicious messy sandwiches! It’s my favorite way to do them with loads of butter, onions, kraut and beer! Oh yeah! Click Sandwiches for more sensational summer sandwich recipes. On the side why not make something a little different like my Door County Cherry Slaw? It goes great with whatever you're grilling this summer.
