Hi Cooking Moms, Dads & Friends, WOW - June sure is flying by! I can’t believe the 4th of July is almost here. I’m ready. Bring it on! I know it’s going to be a lot different this year. No fireworks in my town, no big celebrations. But, I still plan to make it delicious! To me, nothing says summer and the 4th of July like BBQ ribs! My Ribs 'n Beer is always a hit in the summer! Ribs can be kind of a pain to make. Not these! I season them with my Rib Rub and bake them off a few days before my cookout. Then, when it's party time, just fire up the grill and baste them with BBQ sauce. Warning! Bring on the wet wipes because these are messy! Want to serve BBQ and keep it really easy breezy? Get out your slow cooker and make my Super Easy Pulled Pork. Just dump it all in there and go do your thing. Then, when it's mealtime, just set it on your table with a pile of buns and everybody can help themselves. Love that! You can even use your slow cooker to keep your brats nice and juicy! Click Brat Tub for my favorite way to do brats. Click Dinner, Sandwiches and Slow Cooker for more of my favorite summer recipes. When it comes to the sides, I just gotta serve a good coleslaw with my BBQ! My Crispy Coleslaw is a Carolina style slaw with vinegar and no mayo. It's nice and light but full of flavor! Great on pulled pork sandwiches! I'd be in the dog house if I didn't make my Baby Red Potato Salad over the 4th. It's a recipe I've been making forever! Everybody says it's the best! The fresh dill and bacon make it extra special. Come on, try it! Trust me, they'll be asking for the recipe. I make a Mighty Good Macaroni Salad too! Click Salads for more of my super good summer salad recipes. My jazzed up Baked Beans with bacon on top are so good! Super easy too! They are another must at my backyard BBQ’s! Click Sides for more tasty side dish recipes. I love serving lots of fresh fruit at my parties! How cute is my Star Spangled Fruit Salad? Or thread fresh fruit on skewers and make my Fruit Kabob Flag. I serve them with My Favorite Fruit Dip. That’s ALWAYS a hit! For dessert, why not celebrate strawberry season with my All American Berry Trifle? It's so gorgeous and festive. My Patriotic Dessert Kabobs will make the kids light up. How adorable are these and so easy! Click Desserts for more fun summer dessert recipes. Strawberries are so beautiful right now.
