Hi Cooking Moms, Dads & Friends, Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week. The weekend is almost here and it’s going to be a great one. I can’t wait! It’s the first round of the playoffs and I’m so excited! Tomorrow afternoon my Green Bay Packers take on the LA Rams. No matter who you are cheering for this weekend these playoff games are going to be so exciting. You just gotta watch! I’m kind of an expert at game day parties. We do our fair share of them in Green Bay! LOL! I know we can’t have big parties this year. Now that my daughter is back at college, it will be just the two of us and Arlo, our black lab, watching. I’m still going all out to make it festive and fun! I’m keeping it easy breezy! I sure don’t want to be stuck in the kitchen missing the action! My game plan is to get things done ahead of time and set everything out on the kitchen island or table. Then we can just help ourselves! It’s not a good game day party without a few good dips! If they happen to be Green and Gold even better! This time of year I want something ooey, and goey, and warm! My Baked Spinach and Artichoke Dip is a AMAZING! You can bake it in a casserole dish or for even more fun hollow out a loaf of sourdough bread and bake it in that! Surround it with crusty bread pieces for dipping and dive in! Speaking of diving in, my Green and Gold Layered Bean Dip is another family favorite! Super easy and you can make it ahead. LOVE THAT! Click Appetizers for more delicious dips and nibble recipes. I love to serve the bean dip with my Brat Chili. We LOVE our brats here in Wisconsin! Using brats give this chili loads of flavor! You gotta try it! My Taco Soup is perfect for your game day bash. It’s something a little different than the usual chili. And it’s pretty healthy. You can make it even healthier by using ground turkey or chicken instead of ground beef. You can also make it ahead and keep it warm and cozy in your slow cooker. I serve it with all of the favorite taco fixin’s set out. Then everybody can top their bowl with what they like. I pile on shredded lettuce, sour cream, fresh cilantro, tortilla chips, and of course shredded cheese! I’m a cheesehead - gotta have my cheese! Click Soups for more of my chili, soup, and stew recipes. A big messy sandwich is also a game day must! My hot French Dip Sandwiches with au jus for dipping are a game day favorite. Super easy breezy too! Just throw it all in your slow cooker later today or early Saturday morning and it will be all ready by kickoff! Sliders are also super fun for game day. I love them because you can eat more than one! My Ham and Cheese Sliders are always a HUGE hit! I make killer Cheeseburger Sliders too! Click Sandwiches and Slow Cooker for more of my favorite hot recipes. On the side, make my Bacon Broccoli Salad, and everybody loves my Mac ’n Cheese Mini’s. Now that’s a party! Click Salads and Sides for lots more recipe ideas. For dessert, if you’re a Packers fan, how cute is my no bake Green and Gold Trifle? You can use food color gels to make the trifle in your team's colors too! Or have the kids help make and decorate my Football Brownies. How adorable are these? What fun! Now all we need is a good game. GO PACK GO! Click Desserts for more delicious dessert recipes. Order Amy's Cookbooks! If you like my recipes, I think you will love my cookbooks.
