Hi Cooking Moms, Dads & Friends, Happy Friday! I’m super excited about this weekend! We’re headed to beautiful Door County this weekend for Winterfest. I got cross country skis for Christmas and I can’t wait to use them. There’s a candlelight ski Saturday night. How cool does that sound? I’m judging a big chili contest too. Hoping to take in a good Wisconsin fish fry. Got any suggestions on where we should eat? Please reply to share. I promise to post lots of pictures on Instagram, so follow me! It’s also the Super Bowl is this weekend! Why not throw a party? I can help. I gotta be honest. I have no idea which team I’m cheering for. I’m just hoping for a great game and of course it’s all about a great game day food spread too! There are some definite MUST HAVES for your party to be a winner! Check out my blog How to Throw The Ultimate Super Bowl Bash for a bunch of fun ideas and recipes. For starters you gotta serve a few good dips. Lots of munchies and appetizers. You also need big messy sandwiches. Oh yeah, and make-aheads. I sure don’t want to be stuck in the kitchen the whole time! That’s no fun! Keep it easy, breezy. Just set everything out on your kitchen island or table and let everybody help themselves. OK, let’s start with some fun yummy dips. My Buffalo Chicken Dip is a WINNER! It’s so easy too. Just shred up a rotisserie chicken and throw all the ingredients in your slow cooker. Serve it with chips, celery and carrots for dipping. Total yum! Speaking of wings, skip the deep fryer and make my Baked Buffalo Wings instead this year. Serve with my Best Bleu Cheese Dressing for dipping and you’ve got one delicious party. My Chili Cheese Dip is a family fave. It’s dip passed down from my grandmother. It’s AMAZING and so simple to make! Just 3 ingredients. And yes you can make it ahead and bake it right before kickoff. If you like pizza you’ll love my Pepperoni Pizza Dip. It’s A Game Day Dip To Die For! Why not set up a nacho bar? I make The Ultimate Nachos! You can keep the taco meat and the nacho cheese sauce nice and warm in slow cookers. Put out a huge basket of chips and loads of toppings and let everyone help themselves. Now that’s a party! Click Appetizers for more delicious game day appetizer recipes. When the New York Times was looking for the ultimate tailgate/game day food, I submitted my Sausage and Cheese Chowder recipe. It won! Sausage, cheese, potatoes, and beer. Oh yeah! You need to make this! For a big crowd double or triple the recipe. Just throw it all in your slow cooker and it will be done in a few hours. It's so crazy easy! THIS WILL BE A HIT! I promise! Click Slow Cooker and Soups for more of my favorite slow cooker, soup and stew recipes. Okay, let’s talk sandwiches… Is there anything better than a great big messy sandwich? You gotta have some for your Super Bowl bash! My Hot Beef Sandwiches are AMAZING! You just gotta try this recipe! So easy breezy. Just your dump your beef roast and the rest of the ingredients in your slow cooker and you are good to go. Like French Dips? They are my Fave! I make Super Easy Pulled Pork and hot Italian Beef Sandwiches too. I’m getting hungry just thinking about these! Click Sandwiches for more super messy and delicious sandwich recipes. You can’t have a great party without a fun delicious dessert. If you like Oreo cookies, your gang will go nuts over my my Cookies and Cream Cheese Ball! Shape it into a football covered with jimmies.
